Northern Education Trust Thornaby Academy students celebrate record-breaking GCSE results.

Students at Thornaby Academy, a member of Northern Education Trust’s network of seventeen schools, are celebrating record-breaking GCSE results today. The academy continues to build on its success, marking three consecutive years of growth in combined English and mathematics pass rates. A record 69% of students passed English and maths, with impressive subject-specific outcomes showing 78% achieving a pass in English and 74% in mathematics. Alongside these strong overall outcomes, the academy celebrated exceptional individual achievements, achieving its highest total of Grade 9s to date. These milestones highlight the dedicated effort of the students together with the steadfast support provided by the entire academy team.

Expressing her gratitude to students and staff for their dedication and commitment, Dr Kendra Browness, Principal of Thornaby Academy, stated: “I am absolutely thrilled with our students’ achievements, which reflect the culmination of years of hard work. I would like to sincerely thank our team of staff for their unwavering efforts – these results stand as a testament to their continuous energy, enthusiasm, and support. I am equally grateful to the parents, carers, governors, and the trust board for their ongoing backing, as our students and staff could not succeed without it.”
